cropped-JACKNIFE-POET-4.jpgThe International Poetry ReIncarnation, a rowdy convocation celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of The First International Poetry Incarnation, is happening as part of the Last Word Festival, at The Roundhouse, Chalk Farm Road, London NW1 8EH, on Saturday May 30th 2015.

We kick off at 12.30pm with a panel discussion of “Revolutionary Poetics”, featuring legendary counterculture poet and lyricist Pete Brown, passionate and proper poet-activist Pete the Temp, and rising star of spoken word Cecilia Knapp. They’ll be discussing whether words can ever really change the world.

At 2.30pm, venerated poet Michael Horovitz introduces the hotly-anticipated and super-rare showing of Peter Whitehead‘s seminal film of the 1965 Albert Hall event, “Wholly Communion”. Even more exciting: original Poets’ Co-operative organisers Michael Horovitz, Pete Brown and Barry Miles will be here with Peter Whitehead to discuss the revolutionary events of Summer 1965.

Then, glad rags on, we have the very posh celebration performance getting jiggy at 7.00pm sharp. The main space of the Roundhouse, all cabaret tables and golden chairs, will play host to the most eclectic spoken word line-up ever attempted without use of protective apparel or safety equipment.

Take a look at the mind-altering line-up here.

We are incredibly grateful to Arts Council England for their support.
